Actress Lindsay Lohan, out of rehab and speaking today at the Paris Couture Week gala for the Giuseppe Zanotti fashion house, announced that she is engaged to boyfriend Egor Tarabasov.
Lohan said her sister, Ali, told her, “It’s now official, so I will announce it publicly.”
What’s been the secret to the couple’s long-lasting relationship and togetherness?
“Love,” she said. “Love, peace and happiness is the best way to give birth to a child.”
The couple’s age difference, Lohan said, was insignificant.
“I don’t think people understand how young we are. He’s 22 and I’m 26. I’m older and wiser, but I love him, and we have a good time together. I respect him a lot.”
Still, the crowds in the second row seemed a little cold and dismissive of Lohan, an A-list red carpet fixture back in her heyday. Except for the adoration and excitement of her sister, they seemed a bit more fidgety with each turn. The place was buzzing at the end of the night, with many hoping that Lohan would reveal details of the wedding, even though she balked.
“That’s a secret,” she said. “I will not say anything.”
When she was asked why she didn’t say something about the wedding, she said: “Because I can’t talk about it. I have a right to feel that way.”
But that was a good point. Even if you know the man you’re going to marry, you don’t want to ever hurt anyone. And, in the case of Lohan and Tarabasov, one can’t help but worry about that. For the moment, though, the reaction of Lohan’s fans was overwhelmingly positive.
